Travelling with your family is a great way to bond and create lasting memories. If you’re coming to China, then Shenzhen is one of the best places to find adventures, such as hiking, climbing and active sightseeing, for all ages that will satisfy each member of your family (even the pickiest ones!). Here are our top picks for family fun in Shenzhen:

#1 Window of the World

Want to visit the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, and Grand Canyon? How about going skiing at an Alpine resort, visiting the Colosseum, and navigating the canals in Venice? How about doing all of this in one day in Shenzhen?

At Window of the World, you will feel as if you have traversed the seven seas in less than 24 hours, having visited most of the major tourist sites from the entire world! These replicas are put together in miniature with delicate care, and each is unique and accurate in its own fantastic way. Visiting here with your family gives you a wide variety of fun times! Entrance is 150 yuan for adults, 80 yuan for children under 1.5 meters, and free for those under 1.2 meters.

#2 Splendid China Folk Village

An interesting experience for old and young alike, this meaningful theme park is located in the Overseas China Town. China is a huge country, and truly understanding its various cultures could take a lifetime. However, in this beautiful park, you can get a taste for the whole country by visiting its different sites in miniature. Get ready to satisfy even the shortest of attention spans. Travelling through the Miniature Park, you’ll see famous sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Terracotta Army. Shuttles are available to take you around the park.

In the China Folk Culture Village, you’ll find 56 individual villages all built together to represent the different ethnic minorities in China. Each village has a unique flair, telling the story of its people from ancient times until now, including their varied and beautiful customs, food, dances, and so forth. Entrance to the Splendid China park is 180 yuan for adults, 90 for children under 1.5 meters, and free for those under 1.2 meters.

#3 Happy Valley

One of the fun facts about Shenzhen is that it’s a city of theme parks. If your kids are ready for some action, Happy Valley is the place to go! This amusement park boasts an incredible variety of rides, games, performances and other attractions, ready to satisfy kids of all ages! Separated into nine different areas each with a different theme, this park covers an amazing amount of ground and is a sure way to get your kids overstimulated and, of course, happy!

You’ll be able to get your adrenaline pumping on some of the most daredevil roller coasters in the world, while the kids enjoy splashing in the waves at Playa Maya Water Park. A day at this park will furnish you with great stories and loving memories with your family. Entrance to the park is 150 yuan, although the price is reduced to 50 yuan if you enter the park after 7:00 pm.

#4 Shenzhen Safari Park

Want to get up close and personal with some of the world’s wildest animals? The Wild Life Zoo in Shenzhen is a great place to see wild animals roaming free instead of being confined in small places. Personally, I am not a fan of zoos, but this place is different. You’ll be able to view such majestic creatures as Asian elephants, giraffes, tigers, pandas, and more! Separated into sections such as the Herbivore Area, the Best Area, and others, you’ll see each of these special creatures in an uncaged environment.

Cars are allowed to drive through the park, and also shuttles can take you and your family through while you enjoy the natural world around you. Entrance is 200 yuan for anyone over 16, 100 yuan for those aged 12-16, and free for those under 12.

#5 Koolfly Trampoline Park

Are you kids tired of theme parks and ready to let off some steam? Then head to the Koolfly Trampoline Park where they can bounce the afternoon away! With over 2000 square meters of fully bounce-able floors, this park is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy. All ages are invited to come and bounce, although those under 6 must have an adult with them at all times. Mum and Dad can bounce around with the kids as well, making a great family day!

Shenzhen is a fantastic place to bring kids, letting them see interesting culture, have great adventures, and draw closer their parents. Families will truly enjoy spending time in Shenzhen and making memories to last a lifetime.
